For others, however, the heavy rains have been harmful. These varying effects of the weather are one of the challenges faced by the people who work every day to feed us, so we must thank them for their dedicated work. To that end, let\u2019s take a look at some of the seasonal produce available to us in Asturias.   <\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"b2e-vc-empty-space\" style=\"height:32px\"><\/div><div class=\"b2e-vc-text\"><h4>May: Enjoy some delicious Swiss chard<\/h4>\n<\/div><div class=\"b2e-vc-empty-space\" style=\"height:10px\"><\/div><div class=\"b2e-vc-text\"><p data-start=\"1009\" data-end=\"1288\">One of spring\u2019s most flavorful leafy greens: Swiss chard, which is both delicious and versatile in the kitchen. Throughout this month, you can already see it adding a splash of color to the stalls of our organic farmers at the main markets in Asturias. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1009\" data-end=\"1288\">Packed with vitamins and antioxidants, Swiss chard is a highly recommended food for our bodies. It\u2019s known for helping us maintain our eye health and also offers endless culinary possibilities: stews, salads, stir-fries, omelets\u2026 A whole world of springtime possibilities. And as with all vegetables, it\u2019s important to look for organically grown chard to ensure it has the lowest risk of containing synthetic chemicals and is the tastiest and most nutritious.   <\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"b2e-vc-empty-space\" style=\"height:50px\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"b2e-vc-row\"><div class=\"b2e-vc-column\" style=\"flex-basis:25%;max-width:25%\"><figure class=\"b2e-vc-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/copaeastur.codevent.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/almapapi-leaves-7741294-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/figure><\/div><div class=\"b2e-vc-column\" style=\"flex-basis:75%;max-width:75%\"><div class=\"b2e-vc-text\"><h4>Warm Organic Swiss Chard Salad with Apple and Walnuts<\/h4>\n<\/div><div class=\"b2e-vc-empty-space\" style=\"height:10px\"><\/div><div class=\"b2e-vc-text\"><p data-start=\"1607\" data-end=\"1802\">If someone tells you that salads are boring, it\u2019s either because they lack imagination or because they haven\u2019t subscribed to our newsletter yet. \ud83d\ude09 And to prove it, here\u2019s a delicious recipe featuring our tasty, seasonal organic Swiss chard: <\/p>\n<p><strong>\ud83d\uddd2\ufe0f Organic ingredients (serves 2\u20133):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-end=\"449\" data-section-id=\"9yorgt\" data-start=\"416\">A bunch of organic Swiss chard<\/li>\n<li data-end=\"461\" data-section-id=\"1k2tf73\" data-start=\"450\">1 apple<\/li>\n<li data-end=\"483\" data-section-id=\"1urr8tj\" data-start=\"462\">A handful of walnuts<\/li>\n<li data-end=\"520\" data-section-id=\"paxqjg\" data-start=\"484\">Blue cheese from Asturias, to taste (we have several organic varieties to choose from)<\/li>\n<li data-end=\"551\" data-section-id=\"1fy29rk\" data-start=\"521\">Extra virgin olive oil<\/li>\n<li data-end=\"573\" data-section-id=\"25tb5n\" data-start=\"552\">Juice from half a lemon<\/li>\n<li data-end=\"590\" data-section-id=\"zvpex8\" data-start=\"574\">Salt and pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-end=\"298\" data-start=\"280\"><strong data-end=\"296\" data-start=\"280\">\ud83e\udd44 Preparation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-end=\"669\" data-section-id=\"1nwavg7\" data-start=\"609\">Wash the Swiss chard thoroughly and separate the leaves from the stems.<\/li>\n<li data-end=\"763\" data-section-id=\"hl4rlc\" data-start=\"670\">Cut the stalks into thin strips and saut\u00e9 them for a few minutes in a little olive oil.<\/li>\n<li data-end=\"871\" data-section-id=\"1erkvi2\" data-start=\"764\">Add the chopped leaves and cook just until they wilt, while retaining their bright green color.<\/li>\n<li data-end=\"964\" data-section-id=\"fdq4bm\" data-start=\"872\">Place the warm Swiss chard on a serving platter and add the apple, sliced into thin strips.<\/li>\n<li data-end=\"1014\" data-section-id=\"vn27lp\" data-start=\"965\">Add the walnuts and a few pieces of cheese.<\/li>\n<li data-end=\"1084\" data-section-id=\"vsnn0s\" data-start=\"1015\">Dress with olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1607\" data-end=\"1802\">\ud83e\udd6c<strong> Final details: <\/strong> <\/p>\n<p data-end=\"1599\" data-start=\"1542\">If you want to give it an even more spring-like touch, you can add some toasted seeds or tender arugula leaves.
